RAPID INTERVENTION TRAINING

This four day hands-on intensive program encourages working together to increase the safety and survival of fire fighters. It also encompasses the skills needed to search for and rescue downed fire fighters.

|
The program is comprised of four days of progressive skills beginning with:
•Classroom session (covering all aspects of RIT and May Day procedures)
•Fire ground Safety & Survival Techniques (SCBA emergencies and FF escape)
•Rescuing Fire Fighters (removal techniques from below and above grade)
•RIT Search Techniques (Large Area, Team, and Rope Based Searches)

Heavy Rescue Operations
|
|
An intensive five-day hands-on training program covering metal cutting, fireground shoring, commercial / large area search, heavy lifting, confined space and void space search.

Students must provide their own PPE including; hoods, SCBA and spare SCBA cylinder.
Tuition does not include lodging, transportation or meals. Class sizes are limited.

Truck Company Operations
|
|
An intensive two-day hands-on training program that includes such topics as ground ladders. Roof ventilation. Forcible entry, search techniques, rescue over ground ladders and vent enter search (V.E.S.)

|
Truck Company Operations is a comprehensive, multi-faceted course designed for firefighters and officers who are assigned to or called on to perform the tactics of a Ladder or Truck Company. Whether you are new to the "Truck" or a seasoned veteran this course will provide you with new ideas and a thorough review of street tactics. All skills taught during this intense two-day class are based upon the bread and butter operations of Truck Companies.

Metal Cutting for the Fire Service
|
|
An intensive hands-on training program
|
|
|
Fireground forcible entry, transportation accidents and structural collapse can result in fire departments being called upon to cut metal. The rescuers ability to choose the proper tools and techniques could make the difference between a successful or failed operation. This class covers; safe operating practices, tool choice and application, gas and electric power tools as well as oxy-fuel and exothermic torches.

Students must provide their own PPE including turnout gear or equivalent, helmet, eye protection, leather gloves, nomex hood and earplugs. (Optional PPE shade 5 burning goggles, cutting gloves and leather coat.)

Incident Command
for Technical Rescue
|

An intensive Two Day, hands-on training program
|
|
|
A two-day program that will prepare the student for planning and managing some of the most challenging situations that we face. Students will interact with ongoing technical rescue program operations as part of their training. This program meets the requirements of ICS 200.
